Katherine Davis is a Chicago-based business journalist with experience covering health care, life sciences, startups and venture capital.

 

She is currently a reporter for Crain's Chicago Business, where she covers hospitals, pharmaceutical makers, insurance providers, public health, life sciences companies and healthtech startups. This includes some of the world’s largest companies headquartered in Chicago, including Walgreens, AbbVie, Abbott and GE HealthCare.

Before Crain's, Katherine was an Associate Editor at the American City Business Journals, where she reported on tech, startups, venture capital and commercial real estate for the Chicago Business Journal and Chicago Inno, two brands under the ACBJ umbrella.

Katherine graduated Cum Laude in 2015 from Columbia College Chicago with a B.A. in journalism and a minor in fashion business, and has since completed journalism fellowships and trainings at the Poynter Institute and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. Besides the aforementioned publications, Katherine's work has also appeared in Modern HealthcareThe Detroit News and Cardiovascular Business.

 

Through her reporting, Katherine has captivated and informed a range of audiences—from CEOs to policymakers—on issues impacting why and how they operate.
